The Lar da Bênção Divina (The Home of the Divine Blessing) is a non-profit charity organisation that has been helping the poor and needy in the community in São Paulo since 1956. At first, its volunteers handed out free soup prepared from donated foods to the poor people in the area.
As time passed, the increasing involvement from the local community and its partnership with the municipal council meant that the objectives were widened. Its crèche holds more than 100 children besides those already enrolled in its infant-youth project.
In partnership with o SENAC (a Brazilian commerce education organization) through the PET project %u2013 Programme for Education for Work -, it has prepared 52 youths for the work market, through the use of classes of computer skills, music and English, as well as focussing on personal presentation, body language, plus sports activities
