The Office
Policy for Receiving Documents

With the aim of achieving greater security in the flow of documents between our office and that of our client´s, we would like to inform you about the procedures that will be adopted by our professionals from 14 April 2005.

1. Receipt of Documents

All the documents sent by our clients and received by our professionals here at the offices of Martins, Chamon and Franco Lawyers will be checked immediately and in turn registered by means of an electronic recorder, that will provide the document with an identification code, with a sequential number, the day and time of its receipt by the recipient or professional determined by him.

The register referred to above will only be applied to the correspondence that clearly records, on two equal sized copies, each of the documents sent to our professionals

If the professional finds any document mentioned in the letter to be registered has not actually been received, he/she should include this observation on both copies of the letter, before registering receipt with the electronic recorder. If the letter of protocol does not specify any of the documents sent by the client, it will not be possible to electronically register it, nor can the professional from Martins, Chamon, and Franco Lawyers be held responsible for the contents of the correspondence. The same action will be taken with the documents that are sent without any accompanying letter identifying the documents.

2. Receipt of Notifications

The offices of Martins, Chamon and Franco Lawyers indicate the form shown on the page http://www.mcfranco.com.br/prazos.asp as the only section online devoted to the communication of procedural deadlines and important occurrences related to the progress of any procedural, judicial or administrative case.

This form will enable, not just the sending of messages related to the progress of the case, but also the attachment of any relevant documents.

It is essential that the sections marked "Full Name"; "E-mail", with the e-mail address of the sender "Subject", containing a brief report about the content of the message,; and "Message" with a description of the facts, are completed.

Immediately following the correct filling in of the form (completed by pressing the "send" button), an e-mail containing the message sent and the number of the electronic registration thus proving the receipt of the communication, will be dispatched to the sender.

The form can also be accessed on our site http://www.mcfranco.com.br through the Button marked "Deadlines".

THE ONLY MANNER TO MAKE SURE OF THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF PROFESSIONALS FROM MARTINS, CHAMON AND FRANCO LAWYERS REGARDING DEADLINES AND NOTIFICATIONS RELATED TO THE CASE PROGRESS WILL BE THE MESSAGE OF REPLY MENTIONED ABOVE.

3. Hours for sending correspondence.

The professionals at the offices of Martins, Chamon and Franco Lawyers will not be able to accept any correspondence before 9am and after seven pm, Monday to Friday.
